Withering

TimmyfeetThis is posted by Wizard of Ads Partner and friend - Tim (New Daddy) Miles from his Blog "Sound Thinking"

My wife and I celebrated our first anniversary earlier this summer. I wanted to get her some lilies like she carried down the aisle.

I went to a downtown flower shop.

I was in a hurry.

The young lady working there was not....

Part 2: More Secrets Of Good Customer Service

Customer Service Secret Number Two - provide true customer service. In today’s market environment, service has become a cliché and it seems like "everyone’’s doing it." So, if everyone is doing it, why not jump ahead of the wolf pack by providing even more creative, personalized service to your customers than your competitors can?

One size shoe does not fit all feet. Nor is one type of customer service suitable for all your customers. Let’’s say your advertised featured customer service is Home Delivery. The first customer may welcome this Home Delivery because it’’s difficult for him to get out and shop in person...

Home Depot Fun!

You wouldn’t expect the best service story of the week to come from a staffer at Home depot, but it does. We are building a new home and searching all of the big stores for ideas about fixtures, bathrooms, kitchens and the hundreds of other things you need to decide upon when building.

Last night, in Home Depot, we were approached by an elderly gentleman who was obviously retired from his first career and was working at Home Depot for fun...and it showed. He asked what he could do to make our evening in Home Depot better? We made some flippant comment about making all of our decisions for us. He caught the humour and was off, regaling us with a few stories, giving us permission to have fun in his store. We asked about the instant hot water dispenser, and he proceeded to discuss the merits of making hot tea in a pot as opposed to a cup. My wife, being British born, was right into the conversation. He sold us on the hot water dispenser without even talking about the product directly. What a salesman. Just a guy with lots of general knowledge having fun in a Home Depot. He may even have inspired me to my retirement goal.

Cheers

Steve

Part 1: Build Business to Customer Loyalty

Good customer service is the bread and butter of your business.

For instance, I paint outdoor signs and create various types of indoor/outdoor promotionals for people in our small town. I’ve been at this business now for over 20 years. I rarely advertise, yet I enjoy about 80 percent of our town’s sign and display business. How do I do it?...

Be Your Own Inner Champion!

What is your inner voice saying to you?

I sing a song called "Long time to be a Man" the story of a young man who dreams of being a singer, a person to bring joy to others through the sharing of music. One day the young man’’s father whom he really respects, has a conversation that the young man will remember for the rest of his life....

Dealing with Customer Complaints

by Ron Kurtus

A business that provides quality products or services is seeking complete customer satisfaction. In situations where customer complaints occur, the complaint must be dealt with immediately and the cause of the complaint rectified. Some companies are not concerned with quality and often ignore complaints or deal with them dishonestly.

Questions you may have include:....

Marketing has finally become a conversation. Not, in most cases, as was intended, BETWEEN corporations and consumers (that would make too much sense), but rather a global conversation involving millions of consumers ABOUT corporations. On sites like Planetfeedback.com, thecomplaintstation.com, Epinions, About.com, on hundreds of thousands of blogs, community sites, forums, viral emails, bulletin boards, and what have you, consumers relentlessly exchange views, complaints, opinions and comments about products and services, about brands, about companies, about YOUR company...

Marketing in 2005 and Beyond

Marketing2005photo4web

The Age of The Baby Boomer ended in 2003. The torch has been handed to a new generation with new ideas and values. Sure, we Boomers still hold the power at the top, but the prevailing worldview that drives our nation is completely other than the one we grew up with. Businesses that don't get in step with the new world order are going to find it increasingly difficult to succeed.

Being a Baby Boomer isn't about when you were born. It's about how you see the world...
